    67 Steering Wheel finish

My 67 steering wheel is a little dull. My 66 steering wheel has more sheen to the surface.

Was there some kind of finish put on these cast steering wheels, or was the sheen simply a result of the casting process?

If there was a finish applied, does anyone know what was used?

Or if not, has anyone used a buffing process to bring back the sheen?

    Thanks,

    Don

    Don -

As far as I know, there was no secondary finish material applied to the plastic steering wheel; don't know if they were "buffed" or not.

      Thanks John,

I may try to buff a small area on the underside to see what it does.

Suggest you try some polish intended for plastic if you want it to shine. I think a slick, smooth steering wheel is not as safe for human grip.
