Part number for C2 capacitor (1966)

I need a capacitor for my 66! The part number in the 66 AIM for the heater blower motor capacitor is 3886965. I see one on Ebay listed as correct for a range of cars, including 66 vette, with part number 3906187. It looks just like the one on my 67.

Is the part 3906187 a later or service replacement for 3886965?

    Thanks,

    Don Harris

Second question - The attached photo is of the capacitor off my 67. I am restoring my 66 coupe and will have it judged, it is missing the blower motor capacitor. If the one off my 67 is correct, and I can't find another acceptable replacement, then I will use it on my 66.

Can someone verify if the attached photo is of a correct blower motor capacitor AIM part number 3886965.

    Thanks,

    Don

Yes, the GM #3906187 replaced the GM #3886965 in March, 1981.

The 3906187 was replaced in July, 1994 by GM #3906145. Finally, the GM #3906145 was discontinued in August, 1996 and replaced by GM #477371. The latter is still available from GM. The problem is that it GM lists for about 66 bucks.

By the way, I should have mentioned that the 3886965 and 3906187 are virtually identical while the replacement 3906145 and 477371 have different style connectors on the ends. They will work but some connector modifications have to be made.

Yes, I did notice in the pictures I have found that later ones have a different connector.

            Thanks again Joe,
