65 exhaust conversion from side exhaust to undercar exhaust

To convert back to under car exhaust from side exhaust, new rocker panel brackets have to be welded back on. Will the body have to be lifted to do the welding?

I had a customers car where the mounts had been cut off about a 1/4 inch below the bird cage so it measured each repo mount and cut them off to match up each mount and then welded the replacements to the remaining original mount. It saved a lot of work but wasn't exactly as it left the factory.(if it's going to be judged)

Russ, brackets on my car were cut off flush with the birdcage so piece welding is not an option. Thanks anyway.
