    C2 clock coil

I have a 67 clock with a burned out coil. Is there a source for replacement parts? What would cause the coil to burn out?

The points sticking when the coil is energized. It seems like if you use a really cheap battery charger that does not output clean DC and have the cables connected while charging it can cause issues.

Pat, I believe if the battery goes low or dead this will cause the clock to cycle many times and fuse the points which overheats the circuit.

Thanks for the information. It sounds like burned out coils may be a common problem. I wonder if the coils are unique to Corvettes or common to most GM cars of the era?

            Pat:

I am almost certain that the coils were common to most models. The clock sizes and faces were obviously different.

Rebuilding should not be an issue. Frank gave you the place.
