Searching for info on two 1967 L-88 cars

OK, I think we have a list of 19 1967 L-88 cars (out of 20 production plus one prototype). The prototype car is accounted for.

Two cars that are still eluding us are:

    1. Goodwood Green / green interior coupe. Advertised as a factory L-88 car in March, 1976 issue of Vette Vues. Car was equipped with M-22, side pipes, 4.11 rear posi, tinted glass, TI ignition, 32K miles. Ad also says "new motor". Car was in Clarion, PA at the time. Owner listed was Andy Affrica.

    2. Red convertible, also advertised in 1976 Vette Vues. Side pipe car. Owner wanted to trade pictures for his Corvette album. Owner was Paul Farris in Vista, CA (near San Diego). Paul Farris passed away in 1994.

Really just trying to track down the VINs for these cars, assuming they were real L-88 cars.

One interesting note about car #1. The car was last advertised in Vette Vues in Oct of 76. A full page ad appeared in Nov of 76 in Vette Vues from Buxbaum and Douglas Special Interest Corvettes.

One of the cars listed in this ad was a 1967 Corvette coupe, Green, green, 550 HP, 4 speed, side exhaust, new lacquer.

This ad almost sounds like a 67 L-88 car with a replacement L-88 engine.

I am wondering if the Clarion, PA car is the same car as the Buxbaum and Douglas car.

I am not looking for the cars, just the VINs of these cars.

Can't help with your search, but this reminded me of a car that had come up for sale in St. Catherines On. CA in about 75-76. It was advertised as an L88, a blue 67 coupe. At the time I presumed it to be the real deal, not much cloning going on back then and the asking price was $30k at a time when I bought a real nice 63 340 roadster for $4,400.

Were any of the L88's sold new into Canada?

That car is the Marina Blue coupe, #17076. There was a full page ad in Vette Vues for that car in 1976. The ad had a picture of the tank sticker. I have that ad around here somewhere.

I seem to remember a green coupe that was thought to be real. It was owned by Jim Whitmere and Bill Miller. The car turned out to be a clone.

If this is the car I am thinking of, it is the car that some of us refer to as the prototype L-88 car. It has an unusual (not standard format) VIN on it.
The engine in this car may have has some "after production massaging" of the engine pad.
