mid year horn location with AC

I searched on the archives and it seemed the consensuses is the drivers side horn gets bolted to the lower condenser bracket bolt that holds the fan shroud. the AIM says to use production location. I tried and it wont fit very well there. but fits fine on the condenser bracket bolt. the passenger side fit well on the relocation bracket.

    Keith,

You didn't mention the year of your car but I'm familiar with your '67 BB Coupe. According the the TIM&JG, page 182 (Horns - A/C option)..."The driver's side horn is moved farther outboard on the front side of the core support and attached under the lower left condenser mounting bolt". Hope this helps.

Thanks wonder why it's not in the AIM. Oh how I wish I tore this car apart. And yes I'm referring to the BB 67 I'm working on

        Keith,

Actually the drivers horn is in the stock location and the passenger horn is the one that is moved. It is moved on the front of the forward wheel well where the parking light harness goes thru. There is a nut-plate revited to the fiberglass for mounting. The right horn also has a modified mounting bracket.

          Hi Keith,
The pass side horn is moved to the inter fender and bolt to a flat bracket. This is shown in the AIM C60 B1 sheet. The driver side is not shown in the AIM. It will not mount in the normal horn position on the core support with an original condenser as it blocks part of the hole. Enclosed is the horn location on a 5 star bowtie car. I think this is the same picture we included in the new 1967 Judging Guide on page 182

thanks Page that is a great picture. its interesting bolt. looks to be a 5/16 interlingual washer "fender bolt" and not the "production" horn bolt or fan shroud bolt.

today working on getting all the AC lines routed I gained a little more respect for the line workers who had to "dress" the engine bay out

              JR,

Not to be argumentative, but please read page 182 in the TIM&JG. I think you'll find what I quoted in post #2 to be quite accurate. You are correct when it comes to the right side horn.

                Leif,

With me being right about the right horn and you being correct about the left horn it looks like two half wits make a whole answer.

                Regards,

now that we agree on proper location. can we decide if the bolt in Page's picture is correct. what about the bolt in the passenger side re-located bracket. I think the AIM called out that to be the production bolt

                      Keith,

I tried to take a picture of my left side horn attachment area but it is nearly impossible to get my big mitts and camera down there with the hood on the car. With that said, the picture that Page posted is from a Bowtie car and is the same as mine. The bolt has a 1/2" head.
