    1962 clutch inspection cover paint color

    What is the correct paint color orange or black, screws painted?

    Hi Dino,

    The originals were painted orange when the engine was painted. Hard to get to areas may have little or almost no paint.

        ...and if there are lightly painted areas, the "show-through" is not black. The originals were bare steel when painted with the engine. Later SERVICE pans were painted black, though, most likely to control rust when the parts were on the shelf. Parts customers don't "cotten" to being handed a rusty part, even if it's new.
