    Mid year wiper motor parts

I am freshening up my wiper motor, beadblasting and cad plating ect. But I can't seem to find a place that supplies the white plastic piece for the washer pump, somebody must sell them because you see new ones on the rebuilt units that are advertised. Any help would be appreciated.

Long Island Corvette has them. Check their part # 08-36B. Corvette central also sells them. They are listed as windshield washer repair kit.

Long Island sells them I am pretty sure. Come as a kit with the rubber three ringed gasket and the hex screws. ARA

          Dave,

Yes, Long Island does have the wiper rebuild kits in a milky white plastic that will not score well on the NCRS judging field.
Take the Long Island rebuild kit, remove the valves and gaskets and use your old plastic that has been yellowed by time and heat.
Then you will have a working pump and the correct color.

Oh, ok , Joe , the only reason I wanted to get a new one was because the old one was so old and yellow, the judging manual says the originals were off white plastic, maybe I will I just clean up my old one.

I'd still use the internal parts of the kit if you want the pump to actually work/remain working. By the way, these kits are usually available in good auto parts stores under the Help! or Dorman brands.

One caveat: often the the white nylon plastic components of the pump will not only yellow with age, but they'll become quite fragile and brittle.

                  Dave,

Just a word from the Joe's if you want your pump to work and looks like it was yellowed.
Personally if it were my pump I would use the new plastic assembly because it is exactly like the original in every way.
Judges like to go by the book and will actually take off it is new (like on the showroom floor) which is the standard for judging at the NCRS.
If you are not having it judged you can do as you please.
