    62 turn signal problem

Question: on my 62 turn signal:
when the head lights are on the turn signal on the left side does not blink.
It appears that the top strand lights up, but the bottom does not.
    Any thoughts for a solution?

So I'm assuming it works ok with the headlights off. How about with the parking lights on?

      Strange.........
As you will see, the turn signal power is sourced from the flasher via the ignition switch feed when IGN on. The headlight circuit has nothing to do with the turn signals. However, the brake light circuit is fed from the TAIL LPS fuse, which also feeds the headlight switch for other functions. You may have a internal short in you headlamp switch relative to the ORANGE wire, but for that to affect your turn signals, your brake pedal would have to be pressed to complete the circuit. Doesn't make reasonable sense to me.

But.............I think I just figured it out, right after I typed the above.

You have a bad ground on your left front Park/Signal lamp. Your headlamps are drawing much current, and the poor ground is resistive to the Park Lamp and has a large voltage drop, thus, no Turn signal filament lights up. But I bet if you check really close, it's very very dim. Check your harness connections behind the grille. The one with the 3 wires inside the plastic block. Pull them apart and clean the terminals and you may fix your problem. Other possibility could be simply a bad connection in your Park Lamp bulb base to the socket ground. Simply remove the glass lens to explore there.

I betcha it's one of the above.

        Bad ground - left side.
