I have been disassembling both doors on my 67 roadster to be able to get the vent window frames replated, and noticed the white crayon numbers that the workers wrote on the fibreglass under the door panels. I thought that every car had the same number throughout , one of my doors has the number 115, and the other has 109, they both seem to be original , I can see the silver overspray on both of them.

Normally, both doors show the same number (the Body Shop Job Number), which identified the door to that particular car before the door was ever mounted to the body; door variables that had to be matched to the body ahead of time included coupe vs. convertible and manual vs. power windows. Occasionally things got out of sequence or it was more expeditious to substitute another unit's door than to repair a problem door in time to use it, and a swap was made. Assembly is a complex business, and you do what you need to do in order to keep the line running.- Top

Re: 1967 production line number
Dave, the front pass. side Toe board has a job number, problem is there maybe some black out covering it. and the rear most vertical panel under the spare tire tub area there is a job number, I also think that sometimes the rear exhaust panel may have a number. The black out can be wiped with lacquer thinner, the crayon marking does not seem to be affected with lacquer thinner or mineral spirits.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: 1967 production line number
This is the location of the rear job number, on the vertical panel just ahead of the gas tank. Additionally, I understand the hood also had that number but was painted over...Attached Files- Top
