C-4 1996 Interior screws metric? (heads are-are threads?)

I'm in the process of replacing the aftermarket stereo-subwoofer, etc. with the stock set-up. Fortunately they didn't hack up the speakers/amps, they used some adapters and whatnot. ANYWAY, there were several screws missing, a couple radio mounting and rear speaker grill screws. The hex head ones were a 7MM head,I would assume so are the threads/diameter?! I'm I had no luck at the closest True-Value. I guess the S.A.E. equivalent would be a #10. I would like to find the correct screws so everything matches. Any thoughts to the best source for such hardware? Auto body supply house?

C4 Corvettes are all metric except for small block core engine and parts of the 4+3 manual transmission.

Some metric fasteners are available from GM but you'll not find many, if any, GM dealer parts departments that will look these up for you. You can get some metric fasteners from McMaster-Carr.

As already suggested McMaster-Carr is always a good choice. Locally I use Fastenal for this type of thing. They are nationwide not sure if there is one close to you. Good luck.

Thanks gentlemen! On first look at McMaster-Carr, it looked like I was in luck...as long as I ordered a thousand! I use Fastenal products in my electrical contracting business...never thought of them for small items like that. I did find a couple of automotive fastener retailers on line that sell small quantities, even had a GM part# reference. That will be great...once I find the GM part #'s for those applications. Sure wish the C-4's still used AIM's! Guess I'll have to beg my Chevrolet dealer to look 'em up. At least the C-4 used the same screw/washer assembly in more than location, at least for the console area, unlike my '73 that uses a different fastener in every spot!
