    fuel sending unit

    I have a new reproduction fuel sending unit from Paragon that is less than 6 months old. It was leaking shortly after the initial installation, and after some research I tightened up the two nuts on the bottom of the unit and it seemed to cure it. Well of course it is leaking again and retightening the nuts has not cured it. I don't want to continue to battle with this fuel leak, so I am considering another new one. Who makes the most reliable fuel sending unit out there? Thanks in advance for any tips or advice!

      It may be just the seal. I'm told that the current replacement seals have a penchant for leaking as they're a little smaller in cross section compared to original seals. Unfortunately, the GM seals are discontinued.

          There was some type of sealant applied around the two electrical connectors that would be inside the fuel tank, and the sealant was loose. I removed the original sealant and I would like to know what would be recommended to seal them again, knowing it will be submerged in gasoline. Thanks in advance for any suggestions! Chris Covinsky

              I've used Seal-All to fix holes/leaks in gas tanks so it will most likely work for your situation - http://www.eclecticproducts.com/sealall.htm

                  Find an original--they can be found and they are restorable.

                      Tony, That wouldn't solve the issue of undersize rubber seals.(o ring seal)
