    50th Anniversary Today

At noon 50 years ago today I made a commitment to a beautiful young lady that we would be together for life. It was a short courting period, a little less than a month but I knew there was no other like her and I had better make her the one before some other guy got the same idea. My parents told me they were sure she was the one for me, to love, honor and cherish for life. Luckily she felt the same way. She was, and still is, the most beautiful lady I have ever seen, sometimes a bit stubborn but she always makes my heart beat a little faster when I see her. We have been through a lot over the years but I always knew it would last. Tom Bryant, a member on this TDB, told me early on she was a special girl. Thanks for the encouragement and support Tom. So today I say Happy 50th Anniversary to my girl and Happy Birthday the 14th of next month. I love her 1957 Polo White body and her two WCFB's, the memories we have made together and those yet to come. Happy 50th Anniversary!

Congratulations, I guess. What's with the two WCFB's? I'm confused. I thought at first you were probably celebrating your purchase of a new 64, such as I did last year with my 63 (purchased new). It has only a single AFB because I was in the Army and couldn't quite swing the additional cost of the Fuel Injection or Split Window Coupe on a PFC's pay. I don't regret not going for each as I had previous experience with a 58 Fuelie, and it was too hot in the desert of New Mexico for a coupe.

CONGRATULATIONS STEVEN!!!!!! What an awesome milestone for you and your "lady!!" " As an original owner myself of a 72, (my last of the "Chrome Front and Rear Bumpers" is nowhere near the milestone that Chevy made when they introduced the StingRay) but with its 43 birthday earlier this month I do relate to the feelings and pride that you have. Hope I'm still around for her 50th. You stirred the memory of when I first saw the split window that you may relate too. You recall the western series BONANZA was sponsored by Chevrolet. My parents bought the 3rd color TV sold by our home town Sears store. At that time there were 3 shows in color: Bonanza, Disney's Wide World of Color & Mitch Miller singers all on NBC. Chevy of course was building the hype of this "secret" new model that would be shown on TV on the Bonanza series for the first time that Sunday night before the 63 new models were unveiled. As a sophomore in high school you can imagine how awe struck I was to see this car on color TV that looked "decades" into the future!! I still remember telling my parents at the end of that first commercial, "some day I'm going to own one of those Corvettes". You can guess how they laughed and told me I better start taking school more seriously so I would be able to afford such a dream!! Well, never did own a 63, but did make good on owning a Stingray!!! How about posting a couple of pics of your "Special Lady"!!!
