    Mirrors can cause major damage to a Corvette thus destroying the value. The judge can ask the owner to feel for the covers with his/her finger. If it is missing, benefit should still go to the owner so they can receive a Top Flight.

      [QUOTE=Alan Struck (15579);727021]Hi Kevin,
      Interesting!
      I'm not quite sure what you're referring to.
      Is it the TRICO logo?
      Is it the configuration of the cover?
      Is it something else?

      Hi Alan,

      It's been a few years now since I helped Tom Keen with some measurements and details concerning these arms. But if I remember correctly, these plates differ in configuration in that the originals have a raised reinforcing stamp to them. Unless the reproductions have been changed I believe they are simply a flat plate painted black. Another difference I recall, was the rivet head size on the "main pivot" joint lowest near the wiper transmission.

      I cause more damage to mirrors by simply looking into them...

          A HUGE THANKS to all who replied to this thread, all were extremely helpful by sharing their expertise. There's an old saying...."Good judgment comes from experience,,,, most experience comes from poor judgment" I'm always open to hearing from those who have gone before us and now have a huge "experience" base from which to draw upon,,,,,, thus saving us who are still "gaining" experience!!
