Will have to wait for that as Michillen pilot cup tires and cold weather don't mix well together. Car currently "queued for production" and still looking like build date of December 8th. With QC-hold on all Z06's doesn't look like I will have a Christmas present, but that is okay. Supposedly, they are starting/have started to ship cars as of Wednesday. In fact, supposedly there were a couple of A8's on the production line when an individual was at the plant for his "owner's tour" on Monday.

Hey Rick, if you go to Spring Mountain give me a call (775-751-9701). I live only 7 miles from there and I will buy you a meal and show off my rolling stock.

Spring Mountain is much better than Bondurant, IMO. BTW, I guess they are still not offering the engine build experience on a new Z06?

Number of tests starting to come out from the "rags". Some very impressive numbers and comments from folks like Andy Pilgrim, Mike Pobst and others as they take the beast through its' paces. Can't wait to get mine built and delivered!

Congrats Rick! I would have a really hard time not selecting the manual trans, but I'd really would like to feel what it's like to accelerate like that... 0-60 in under 3 sec while still on the ground (vice in the air)... I think you made the right choice for the purist driving enthusiast, ie manual trans.

Dave - thanks for the comments! Well, the ZR1 was acceleration like I had never felt, and now hoping the Z06 will be even more dramatic! Wish they would hurry up and tell me "FELINA" has been built! Of course, the back parking lot at the plant if jammed with previously built Z06's as they are ALL still on hold. Have NOT heard of any being shipped to the dealers as yet. Know that Rick Hendrick is still waiting on #1 to be delivered, and last I heard that was NOT happening until December 1st.

Has anyone heard if the C7 Z06 will have sequence VIN's like the C6 ZR1s? My '01 Z was just mixed in with regular production cars.

I have not heard (but a customer selectable VIN is available), it seems many details are either secret or they don't let people know. It is like the Engine Build experience they offered with the ZR1s and the Track Experience, that came with the ZR1's base price at Bondurant or Spring Mountain. I guess none of that is available now. Seems they are not adding much to the Z06's package of options and standard features that the ZR1 had, maybe that means there will be another ZR1 soon with all those things…….now that may be worth waiting for…….

That would be my guess. Pulling all the stops out in the second year of the current generation car would seem unlikely. I would think something else must be in the works. I know the retired engineers said no Mid-Engine was, this is not the GM of the past. Would it would be possible to keep a project as big as that quiet?

In the 1960s & 70s getting a transaxle that could handle the power was always challenge. Now a strong enough unit could probably be bought off the shelf. Bowling Green can handle a mix of cars that were very different, they proved that with the Cadillac XLR.
