No tire info on Tank Sticker

My 1967 Tank Sticker which has been certified original does not list any tire information as to the type of tires the car came with. It did come with N89, bolt on wheels. Was this option only available with Redline tires, therefore it is not spelled out?

Robert, the fact that there is no tire information listed on your tank sheet means that it came with the standard equipped tire which were blackwalls.

Your car came with black wall tires if no tire option shows up. These were the standard tire if white walls or redline tires were not chosen. Any of the two tire options could be ordered with N89, but black walls were standard.

I have access to a brand new set of 5 775x15 black walls, that I can trade for my new redlines. Would you put on the blackwalls because they are correct or keep the redlines as they look great?

You can't go wrong with either decision, it really depends on what you want from the car and how correct to original factory condition you want to make your car. Both will judge the same.

I find it very interesting that my 67 L71 coupe is so highly optioned including bolt on wheels and neither whitewalls or redlines were specified.

Like Jim said, you can never go wrong with blackwalls and it appears that whoever ordered your car felt the same way.

The guy that ordered it had good taste.

Rob, if you get the correct reproduction tires both will judge the same (should be a standard 3 point deduct on DOT road tires) so you gotta go with what you like. Blackwalls are sexy, as are red lines. If you aren't splurging on getting the real wheels (and making the car correct per the tank sticker), then red lines on the rallys look stunning....IMO.... ARA

I think black walls are pretty plain Jane, racers like them I guess, but frankly, I like the way mine came from the factory with the GY Power Cushion white walls on Rallys, I think they look really period classy, but have to admit, my road wheels for highway and grocery store shopping are Torq-Thrust Ds with redlines, that looks period racy.

The Redlines look great on the car and it really is more trouble than it is worth to swap them out for the black walls. I am still dreaming of the original wheels though. I know that is nuts because spending that kind of money really makes no sense, but the fact that my tank sticker has N89 makes the car 1 of 720 that actually came with the bolt ons. Is there any doubt these are not original? http://www.ebay.com/itm/67-ONLY-BOLT...#ht_2306wt_99/
