      Bill,

I can't say all tanks are made by the same vendor , but I can say from the responses to my post and the others I found , that all Quanta tanks have this problem. And apparently it is even worse if you use new straps, which I did not .

Forewarned is forearmed. If I had known I would not have not installed the spare carrier before body drop , making it easier to adjust or remove and re-bend the tank and straps, etc.etc.

It's not like I am O.C.D. or anything ! I mean I just wanted it to look correct ! In fact the very term O.C.D. makes me angry ! Why does everything have to be abbreviated ? Why can't people just say what they mean ?
I mean what if someone doesn't know what O.C.D means ? Shouldn't we be precise in what we describe ? In fact the word precise is often over used . Most people who say they are precise are nowhere near precise !
Blah blah blah for another hour .................................................. ............................! But thank God I am not !!

Glad to hear you got the tank centered. And you are not O.C.D at all. You are however C.D.O. Its the same thing as O.C.D. but all the letters are in PERFECT alphabetical order as they should be, AS THEY SHOULD BE!

I've been wrestling with the strap as well. Quanta replacement tank on my 70 and using my original straps. I've bent the seams in a little and still could use an extra 2" on the straps.
I advised Quanta of the problem and they were ignorant to any complaints about the issue. I complained to Paragon to no avail either.
Any suggestions on how I can secure the tank?

              Justin,

Sorry you are having trouble .

As you have no doubt heard from the vendors , their product is flawless and the problem is exclusive to you alone !
              Yeah right !

If I recall , the single biggest result was obtained by the re-bending my original straps , totally ignoring the previous bends ,especially the rear most ones, and making new ones where they had to be . Second was using a big old crow bar and blocks of wood to position and hold the tank as I re-tightened it .

              Hope this helps ,

              Jim

BTW, I can make the original straps work without the anti-squeek material underneath them. Would it be advisable to use a rubberized paint to prevent friction wear?
