Curious as to what rear gear ratio it has. The NCRS Spec Guide shows 3:36 as the standard ratio for the 396 in 65 but a 3:08 was available. If it had 3:36's, depending on tire size he had back then, it seems he had to be buzzing it up near 6700+ rpm to hit that speed.Mike T. - Prescott AZ.- Top

I may be imagining things, but I can see the forward edge of the tank cover between the seats. [the horizontal line just below the rear view mirror -- cover is half in the shade (between seats) and in the sun (the horizontal part).
If so, I can't understand why Mecum hasn't mentioned this.Attached Files- Top
