    C2 Roadster body lift question

If you left the doors on is that enough support to lift the body and get it on a properly supporting dolly without risking damage in the interim? Thinking of replacing the fuel line this winter.

Lifting the body of a C2 convertible is no problem with the doors latched.

I agree,, but be careful. When you lift it the door gaps will spread and the gaps ( door to quarter ) will widen out and i have had the quarters crack in the jam area before.

To be absolutely safe, remove the doors, cut pieces of 2 x 4 to fit into the opening between the jamb and the hinge pillar. The door jam is not parallel with the hinge pillar. The opening is larger at the top than at the bottom, so you can make the 2 x 4 fit very snugly by pushing it down. Buy 4 eye bolts that have the correct threads (3/8" I think) that will screw into the latch hole in the jamb and the hinge bolt hole in the hinge pillar. Install them then attach a turnbuckle to one. Fasten a piece of metal cable, maybe 1/4" in diameter between the turnbuckle and the eye bolt that doesn't have a turnbuckle. Tighten the turnbuckle until the 2 x 4 is snug. Now one opposes the other. The 2 x 4 will keep the door opening from pinching shut and the cable will keep it from spreading apart. Photo. Doug
