I had a long post on this not long ago but wanted to ask a slightly different question. I want to "manufacture" some slotted pan head screws like the originals to repair stripped screws in a set of originals and to convert service replacement that have hex screws. John DeGregory commented that LIC had done a nice job duplicating the screw in their repro clamps....this is very true and I bought a set but these clamps have other issues. I've spent some time trying to locate a similar screw but everything I've found has a larger diameter and thicker head and the slot is not cut as deeply versus the bottom surface of the head. As such, If I turn the heads down the slot isn't deep enough. I guess I could get them milled but was wondering.....has anyone ever attempted this and do they have a source for screws which are closer to
the originals?
the originals?
