    Judging Sheets

In 1995, was there a separate Chassis Judging Sheet or was that part of the then 8 page Mechanical Judging Sheet?

    thanks

There was a seperate Chassis judging sheet (actually 3 or 4 pages xdepending on what year class you are talking about) in 1995.

      Re: Judging Sheets

      Thank you Terry

      it was the 63-67 class

looking at today's forms, the mechanical is 4 pages

the mechanical from the judging sheets i have (from 1995 for a 66 L36) is 8 pages

and those 8 pages cover a number of items that are on today's chassis form

finally, the 1995 scoring summary section lists: operations, interior, exterior, mechanical, total raw, net score, driving points, grand total

      no reference to chassis

so does this mean there was no separate chassis judging for my car in 1995?

      thanks

        Re: Judging Sheets

What you say surprises me, but it sure sounds like there were no chassis judging sheets for your car in 1995. I am sure that chassis score sheets existed for other classes at that time. One possibility is that if the meet was a chapter event, in those pre-computer generated score sheet days, the chapter may have used forms they had on hand from earlier events.

To the best of my recollection we had four separate forms, plus operations, for early C3 judging from its inception in 1985. That is why I am surprised there were no Chassis score sheets for C2s in 1995.

          Thanks Terry

The event was held in Jenkintown, PA on Oct 15, 1995 and is marked as a Chapter event

            Re: Judging Sheets

At one time in the C1 and C2 classes, the chassis section was called Mechanical II, but I think it was still judged by a separate team. Like Terry I believe that changed before 1995. Maybe the story of how judging sheets evolved in the summer Restorer 40th anniversary issue might shed light on it.

              Thanks Reba

it does appear that there were 2 different judges as follows

the form is 8 pages and the pages are sequential and numbered 1 of 8, 2 of 8, etc

there are 33 items and they are also numbered sequentially

however, at the bottom of page 3, after item #13 (water pumping system), there is a signature block and a judge named "Frank _______" signed there

at the bottom of page 7 another judge signed (looks like "Tony Saggese")

page 8 is a summary section

Oops I had forgotten about Mechanical II. That has been a while, but as you point out it was judged by a seperate team. It was just a nomenclature thing.

                  Reba/Terry,
Not to hijack this thread but on a similiar note we are having a New England Chapter Judging School in March 2105 where we will be re-judging a restored 1966 BB A/C coupe that was judged at the Farmington, Ct. Regional in 1992 and has been stored and un-touched since then. We thought it would be an interesting school. Old vs. New. Of special interest will be the reproduction parts of old and the paint. Hopefully we peak lots of interest.

                    Hi Stephen,

Sounds to me that you have judging sheets from the Delaware Valley Chapter meet from 95. We held our meets in Jenkintown Pa, and the "Frank" you refer to I believe to be Mr. Stech our esteemed Judging Chairman for some four decades.

There MIGHT be more information on the meet/the judging sheets/etc.?, I would suggest contacting Elaine Raisner. You can find her contact info here, on the membership list.

                      Dave,
That sounds like an interesting experiment. I would be interested in the executive summary.

And it would also be interesting to compare judging sheets from the two, but that is probably too much to ask. We all know the knowledge that has been added to the judging guides since 1995.
