I'm having problems finding a battery disconnect switch that works because of clearance issues and cable length. This is a top post battery. I tried a blade type switch, but the cable would not reach the post on the switch. I looked at the type with the turning knob on top, but I feel like the cable would be in a bind because of the necessary twist to install the terminal on the post that would stick out horizontally. Has anyone had success with this issue?

Re: 1968 Battery Disconnect
Mike,
I use the knob turning type disconnect placing it on the negative side of the battery terminal and it works just fine on my '68.

Re: 1968 Battery Disconnect
I used the blade type switch on my '70 - The switch can be reconfigured to suit the application. I had to do the same with the switch for my mid-years too.
On the underside of the switch are two c/s screws, remove them and swap the ends of the switch - it may give you that little extra you need.......- Top
