Best Source for Seat Belt Label?

The drivers side of the shoulder strap finally wore thru the threads on my un-molested72 Coupe. As the belt label is different from the Shoulder label, is it best to replace both to have conformity or just the shoulder belt? Secondly who are the best sources for purchasing these? Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions!!

I am betting that you have the early 1972 label of the silk-like material. If it can be reattached that is your best bet. I don't think any reproduction is going to pass judging (if that is your concern). And please don't replace anything you don't have to just for uniformity.

Reba... good to hear from you again!! Yes, my build date is Nov 71 and it has the silky labels. The interior earned the Bowtie star, and scores very high in Top Flight. So absolutely, I'm very slow to replace anything on the car. The label let go at the stitchings where it was sewn to the belt. The label condition is very fragile. The original stitching is in good condition The Snake Oyl website (Thanks for the tip Paul!!) seems to imply they will sew their labels on the original belt. So with the fragile label off the belt, and is now smaller than original size, your thoughts on how to proceed???

Sometimes a small bit of clear silicon can be applied like glue and will keep it attached and flexible at the same time.

I don't know what advice to give, Norm. It seems that any solution is going to lose judging points. If the label is re-sewn, it will be smaller (completeness). The silicon also sounds like another solution, but you lose stitching (installation). I realize this is a Bowtie and you are trying to preserve it. But you might look for a donor belt if it does not bother you about its not being THE label that came on your car.

I had 1 belt that was frayed & the latch was very rusty. I sent it to Snake Oil to have the belt replaced, the latch chromed & old labels reattached. It took 3 months & the put new white tags on & sent my original ones back. It looks like crap with the rest of the original interior & it cost me 155.00. Not a happy camper. At least the did send my old tags back.
