Hello to all; Got my rocker panels off of my 65' convertible in order to detail/restore the frame a bit, and also clean up the retainer clips of the birdcage for the rockers. The clips were painted Nassau Blue during the restoration, back in 1983. Did they leave the factory painted body color - or zinc green primer ? I also want to mark the frame 'pull date' on the passenger side. My car rolled down the line on November 13th, 1964. Would anyone know what the pull date on the frame should be? Thanks in advance! David

The welded brackets for the rocker moldings were painted green zinc chromate primer with the birdcage, then got varying coverage of primer and body color as the body proceeded through the Paint Shop. Your frame would have been "pulled" on November 12th.- Top

Re: 65' Birdcage clips - Paint color & Frame pull date.
Thank you John; Much appreciated.
I have another question please, regarding my 1966 big block convertible. it was built on March 30th & the welded rocker panel clips on either side, total three units. Hence, the car has number 2-4-and 6 welded brackets in place. Number 1 - 3 - and 5 are missing altogether. The car was body off restored to "concours" condition in 2012.......... Am I to assume that this is not factory correct ? If yes, I unfortunately missed this detail when I purchased the car last year. Any concern in your opinion, when these pieces are missing ? Thank you in advance.
