    C2 Female Hood Latch Bolt

Each female hood latch is secured to the body by three indented hex captive washer (sems style) screw/bolts with pointed ends. I think they are 5/16 by about 3/4. I've seen information that they are black (phosphate?) and these particular ones are E head stamp with three radial lines 90 degrees apart. The judging guide seems to support the black finish but I'm not sure.

What I have are zinc or cad, probably zinc, and say SEM or SEMS on the head. A lot of stuff on my car has been removed and re-plated and possibly replaced.

What is the correct finish and could a "SEM or SEMS" mark be right?

    Larry -

Those bolts were dark phosphate finish, and the heads are as described in the JG - no "SEMS" headmarks.

Larry those bolts are reproduced and I believe if you go to Lowes they have a automotive bolt section that uses the style bolt the factory did. Blk phos, indented head, e head mark. They like a GM fender bolt used for many years though the 60/70's
