Harold, There are different length cables (2 ?) for different years (not a big difference). I would compare the spare to the one on the car. They are not that expensive. Good luck, Don H.Comment

There were actually three different length cables. But for the most part all we see is two.
Short one is 1585719 6-21/64" long
Wobble pump 6409370 6-15/32" long ( I have never owned a NOS one of these cables.)
Long one is 6409698 6-27/32" long
Credit to the above info goes to Michael Hanson 4/9/10.
Today the difference between short and long is roughly 5/8" difference. The long cable should fit all applications.
Meanwhile there is nothing like an old poc swelled up but usuable original. Keep those for your spare and look for them in the fleas. They seem to last forever. I have been playing with FI stuff for over 50 years and have yet to break a cable!!!
Reason being is this. When your FI car is setting for a while don't get in and try and start it without first seeing if the cable will turn the hi-pressure pump (by hand). If it doesn't attend to that otherwise the cable will be history. Always remember this tidbit friends. JohnComment
