I have an old delco #1550272 cap in the old delco box. Question is this the same as delco D310 cap? Thanks in advance

Are you sure of that part number? It is a very old part number but I can't find any record of it. It looks more like an old AC Division part number than a Delco-Remy part number, though.

The only GM part number I can find for the Delco-Remy D-310 is GM #1943047. However, it's possible there was a predecessor part number.

1943047 D310 cap only had one part number since it was first came out in 1958-59. Actually the cap was drawn up in 1957. The cap was first used by Olds I believe. Although the D310 had various minute dimensional changes over the years it stuck with the same part number.
