I am doing a 69 base model restore. The car has a one piece Ecklers front clip. Original clips are hard to find and was wondering if the Sermersheim press mold front clip is acceptable by NCRS standards. I assume there would be a point deduction but less then what I have.Thank you Roger

Re: Sermersheims front clip
I used the Sermersheim front clip panels and bonding strips to replace the complete front end on a 1960 restoration and received no deduct at Regional or National last year.
If you are considering buying the clip already assembly by Sermersheim, I would strongly discourage that. I paid Sermersheim to pre-assembly the 1960 front end and my body/paint guy had to dis-assembly and re-glue every panel. Nothing fit, alignment of panels and bonding strips was poor at best.

Re: Sermersheims front clip
After posting this front clip post another member Tim emailed me that his friend had a 69 coupe that would be a good donor car. My current 69 is Cortez Silver with trim tag C04. The donor is Cortez Silver trim tag D05. So I know have a front clip however this donor car is so correct but ha so much rust damage. Only the 3rd owner with all the papers including the POP. The car sat for 37 years outside, only 10' from a garage. OH Well!- Top
