'69 Parking Brake Handle & Slot Surround

    Hi all,

I have a parking brake handle and mechanism, but the chrome is pitted and the handle is cracked, so I just need that piece, not the mechanism, which is like $370!

The bracket with the chrome surround for the parking brake travel slot that attaches on the underside of the console is also nice, except for the pitted chrome. That piece is just $36, but I only need the chrome surround.

Any suggested sources for the handle piece or the chrome surround?

    Thanks,

    Bob

I believe I've seen the reproduction parking brake levers being sold separately from the complete assembly. I just don't recall where I've seen it.

As far as the lever slot trim piece (GM refers to it as a RING), I have never seen the chrome portion sold separately from the remainder. In fact, I don't think it would be practical, or maybe even possible, to obtain the chrome separately.

      Hi Bob,
I've never seen the chromed trim being sold separately from the reinforcement either. So it looks like it's going to be $36 if you want to replace it.
The emergency brake handles are being sold both separately, and also with the ratchet assembly. I see the handle for about $70 and the complete handle/ratchet assembly for about $120.

When the reproduction handles first appeared a few years ago there was often a 'dimple' in the chromed handle near it's top where the black push button is. Check to see that the one you receive doesn't have it.
      Regards,
      Alan
