    Bloomington Gold

Anybody hearing any Bloomington rumors? A friend just told me the iHotel just called and said the show isn't returning.

St. Charles was a good location, no lack of good lodging and easy in and out from the airports.

I'll miss seeing T Mac heading down the hallway in his BVDs and ***** slippers.

Actually, I won't much miss being gouged by the iHotel.

personally hated st charles and stopped going when it started up there, should have stayed in springfield. it seems it started downhill slide after leaving there. however, even carlisle is gong downhill in my opinion. hope this isn't a sign of the future of shows

                  Hi Michael,
Don't you think what Carlisle has become over the last 25+ years is a direct reflection on where the money and interest is in the Corvette universe?
Not as much money and interest in the old parts aisles now compared to Manufacturer's Row.
Still a couple of days to not be missed if possible!
                  Regards,
                  Alan

                    Re: Bloomington Gold

The interest in the vintage Corvettes and other older cars in general seems to be fading away, running neck in neck with the age of most of us. Sad to say, but the guys who grew up and loved these cars are becoming smaller in numbers, grayer and more hunched over, big bellies, etc. The younger guys do not have quite the same connection to them as we have or had. Many of the car shows now are innundated with the newer cars, hardly any vintage stuff compared to the new. How may buyers and interested parties are there now for the 1940 and 50's cars? Our generation is fading out and the likes of Bloomington and NCRS certainly has to take some hits in interest and attendance? My hair is grey even though I still feel 25, until I look in the mirror! John

For me Bloomington has over 30 years of fond and unforgetable memories, some of which I can't share with you on this discussion board, but Sal, Ray, and Kevin know what I am talking about. However, I do believe that Guy has his heart in it and I believe he will do everything to keep it alive and make it work.

Lets all try to support Guy and keep the memories alive. I for one am not ready to give it up. I value both my NCRS and Bloomington Gold participation as I am sure all of you do.
