clutch L-82 Motor
What is the correct parts for the replacement on this vehicle Should flywheel be resurfaced or replaced? This is the original unit on this 1977 . Are there any manufactures that make a more durable unit? Is there a preferred release bearing? A Corvette shop I use for emission testing said anything will do Any help welcomed. Thank you

No need to resurface the flywheel unless it shows signs of abuse and deterioration.- Top

Re: clutch L-82 Motor
Many seem to prefer the LUK brand clutches which are available as a complete kit with pressure plate, disc, and bearing. That's the direction I would head if I needed a replacement, although other name brands are probably fine also. Just FYI, Chevy used a long and short bearing in general, but I think Corvette always used the shorter bearing. Check the linkage and fork for excessive wear while you are at it. Pilot bushing too, and you may want to do a search on that since there has been discussion about poor fitting and inferior material replacements.- Top
