    Re: 63 seat belts

Don, that is a loaded question. I would say essentially no. There are a few folks out there that have old original webbing, new labels and restored original buckles. If you do not have any original parts they will combine the webbing, labels and restored buckles to make a set. Have a seat, depending on the color you need you could be well over $1000.00. There is Snake Oil, Seatbelt Sity and a few others I can not recall. Look in the Driveline magazine for those and other folks.

There is a company in California that make new webbing. What I did is by the webbing, about $150.00. Then I sent it to a restorer with my buckles. He restored the buckles, used the webbing I supplied and added new labels. He did the stitching based on my VIN as the stitching changed over time in 63. It was still expensive.

    Good Luck

Charlie Santorelli built a complete set for mine several years ago. Nice work. I'm sure others here will chime in on him as well.

              Don,
There is a guy out here in California that I have run across a few times that makes buckles that look exactly the same from the outside. The numbers on the inside of the buckle are not there, but they look really nice just sitting there.

Depending on howmuch of apurest and how much you want to spend is the key. Buying the belt material and having it stitches correctly to these re-pop buckles looks perfect until you open them.

I had my original 63 belts with me when I went to compare them.

What exactly is it you are looking for?

I am looking for perfect original belts and buckles. Since there are a lot of resto mods being built out of split windows I hope to find a set. Thanks

Don - As mentioned move Charlie is a possible source. You can also call Andy Cannizzo. He most likely has complete sets of restored originals. Call or email me if you need more info.
