    1960 front apron hardware?

Three bolts attach front apron to front valance. These screw into clip nuts attached to front valance fiberglass. What would be a typical head mark for these bolts, and were they painted body color or non painted cad? The apron it self would be body color or black out? Last question, would the small bolts attaching apron to radiator support be painted (black out, body color, or non painted cad? Thanks Lynn

          Lynn,

IIRC the bolts were recessed head lagscrew type with integral flat washer. I may have some originals somewhere, so I'll have to check the markings.

Lynn, Several cars I've seen originals, and were painted body color, but all were repainted cars in the past.

Sorry but I've been unable to locate the head markings on those bolts yet.

I had posted these pictures a while back, couldn't find the post to link to, but these are from my 60. Don't believe this area was ever painted / touched up. There are a few spots on the car that were, but it has mostly original paint.

Found them....."SEMS" inside and through 2 circles. 3/4" diameter washer(integral), 3/16" diameter screw, 3/4" long. The washer is not loose, it's solidly affixed.

Also, The inside behind grille would be blackout, maybe sparse. You may see some body color in there too IIRC. Since blackout was done after body paint, it should be minimal IMO.
