Does anyone know a good shop that can repair a weld made to an alum. intake manifold and restore the intake to factory new / NCRS condition? Joe

Re: TriPower weld repair and restoration
Definitely. Jerry MacNeish can do exactly as you wish. Ken Kayser may also be able to do it.
I believe Jerry's website is z28camaro.com. Ken's contact info can be found in the Driveline. I think he can also be contacted through the member's list on this board. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: TriPower weld repair and restoration
Joe,
I did my tri power aluminum here in the shop. There are pro's here that will do it for you. Mine broke at the water outlet and it was important to get penetration as the pipe thread puts a lot of pressure on the fitting when it is installed. i did have to re-tap the threads.
The neat trick that I did after reshaping the aluminum to get the cast texture back, so the repair wouldn't show, was to use about # 30 grit body grinder paper or similar. Turn the grit toward the aluminum and tap the back of the paper with a hammer to texture the repair, it puts the cast look back in the metal, not detectable.
