In line fuse for high speed blower for AC on 70 big block

Does anyone out there know where the in line fuse for the high speed blower for AC on a 70 454 coupe is?

    Thanks,

    Willie

It's at the horn relay. Driver's side engine compartment by the brake master cyl under hood gutter.

Find a thick red wire attached to your horn relay and follow that wire toward the rear of the car. I think the in-line fuse you are looking for is just inboard of the brake master cylinder, but I could be wrong. If you follow the red wire you will find it.

Willie the in-line fuse plastic twist open fuse holder is the only wire coming from the horn relay that has this plastic twist open fuse holder. It takes a 30 type fuse and only supplies electrical for the fan's high speed.

To quote your namesake: "It depends on the meaning of 'it'"

Sorry I couldn't resist. But it would help if you told us what the problem is. We could guess, but knowing is more fun.

I looked in the 1970 AIM for C60 and Thad had the right location. Gives new meaning to the old expression "Ask the man who owns one."

I am just full of useless quotes this morning. Time for lunch.

              Hi Terry,
Fan switch only works on three speeds, the high speed is not working. I thought it may have been the inline fuse since it controls the high speed but not so.

              Thanks,
              Willie

                Willie -

Assuming your "looks OK" means you checked the fuse electrically and it's conducting current, that wire feeds the high blower relay on the evaporator case; if the relay isn't engaging when you select high blower, time to check the relay and the switch.

What John said. I've had many fuses over the years that "looked OK" but were bad. Pop a new 30 amp in there first and see what happens. The other stuff is much harder to do.

                    Willie,

                    Could be the A/C relay!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I'm now looking at the relay and the switch.
