    C1 Deck Lid

C1 Deck-led Installation: I have just completed my final exterior painting process and have installed all the truck, hood, doors, and deck lids back on the car. Everything has aligned smoothly but the decklid. It seems to be very level and the correct spacing on the passenger side but on the driver side the spacing is correct however the deck lid starts to get higher than the body on the downward slop or back side curve edge. I have looked at the original hinges in place that are riveted to the body but it does not seem I can adjust downward.

Any suggestions ? Or was the original slightly higher in that corner ? Guidance or photos welcome.

    Thanks, ERIC

Shims on the forward bolt will lower the rear corner of the lid.

Eric, The hinges are offset from their curved arms and they articulate at their mounting points. Because of this, it allows you to adjust height by placing shims on one end of the hinge or the other.

To bring the lid down to meet the body, add shim(s) to the single bolt position at the tip of the hinge. When you do that it will pivot the hinge down further in it's travel, and due to that it will bring the decklid down at the edge along the body.
