    63 A/C duct screws

The ductwork in my 63 A/C is held up with several of the screws in the picture. Does the screw look familiar to 63 A/C owners or any C2 A/C owners? The screw is 7/8 inches long (total length).

    Hi Harry,
The two places I have seen these screws used are holding the FI "S" tube to the core support and also used to secure some of the AC/Heater cables to the inside heater box.

Harry, I have been told that Corvairs use these screw in the engine compartment. I believe
they are used to hold metal shielding to the engine.

Harry, they are holding up the A/C duct on my '66. I have heard that these screws are refered as "high hat" screws.

Gary and David, these are rather small screws. Does anyone have the measurements on the screw size for the FI S tube?

I have also seen those "Hi-Ha"t screws on 63-67 AC ducts and late 64-65 FI S-tubes. Several headmarkings. Single Anchor large font, Single anchor Small font, Double anchor, A in circles, Blank and dimple. Used on may GM cars of the 60's. Usually they have a notch in the pointed tip.
