As reported previously the spark came back like magic and the only problem I had was the distributor was off one notch. After several days of trying to figure out which way to move the rotor and getting the oil pump shaft correctly aligned, today the engine stated on the first crank. Set the timing adjusted the carb and shut off the engine. A few minutes later started it back up and drove around the block. The car ran great. Got back to the garage shut it down and declared victory. Several hours later went to move the car back into the garage and it would not start. NO Spark! I did crank it for a while before I checked for spark. OK my clue now is the coil was so hot I could not touch it. Can anybody tell if this indicates what the problem might be. My next step may be a new harness, regulator, horn relay, and ignition switch. The corvette gods must be mad at me.
