Suggestions to glue stainless ring back to taillight

Hi, I have what I'm sure is a common issue - the stainless trim ring on one of my '69's taillights fell off. I have a replacement and am looking for suggestions on the best way to glue it back onto the taillight. Anyone had success? Thanks Jack

I've never had to do it but I would think that epoxy would work just fine. I'd slightly roughen the surface of the lens where the stainless ring attaches. I think I'd go with the old standby JB Weld. Don't use too much to avoid "squeeze out".

I've used clear silicon to repair various items. The "clear" doesn't leave much evidence behind and if you mess up it's easy to clean off and start again.
