Installing new master cylinder on my 67

I am installing a new master cylinder. It's the one that CSSB makes and sells that is a correct reproduction of the 67 master cylinder. The car had one of the replacements that wasn't anything like the originals.

This is a non-power brake car. And, I have a Motive system for bleeding.

My question is, since the 67 master cylinder has bleeder valves for each of the reservoirs can I install the master cylinder, fill it and bleed it using these two bleeders on the car just like the wheel cylinders? Or, do I still need to bench bleed it manually? Seems like it would be much less messy if I can install it dry, fill and bleed it on the car.

    Thanks,

    Don

I did 1 like this Don. You have to put a clear pc (mainly for sight purposes) of hose on each valve and ensure that the ends stay submerged in the fluid in the reseviors of the master cylinder. It also helps to grind down the end of a paper clip and insert it into the ultra small bleeder hole in each resevior to allow air to escape. I find it much easier to bench bleed the MC off the car though.

according to my Corvette service manuals by GM the master cylinder is bled tilted down off the car. I use a brake kit that attaches to the master cylinder brake line connection points with a tube that is positioned into the master cylinders reservoir and push on the piston to remove air.

Bench bleed Disk Brake master cylinders because they have 2 reservoirs but not drum single ones.
