    Dash lights not working.

My 67 coupe has no dash lights or stop lights. The tail lights, directional lights & hazard lights all work fine. I checked the fuse for the dash lights and it
checked OK but there was no power at the dash fuse connection. However there was power at all other points on the fuse box. The harness connections on
the firewall tight with no visible issues.

    Suggestions on trouble shooting please

    Jack,
Sounds like you have more than one problem as the stop lights and tail lights are on different circuits. The dash and tail lights are on the same circuit and you only have part of that circuit working and will need to see if you have front parking lights that is also on the same circuit. As far as tha stop lights you will need to find out if you have directional signals.
You don't have mice in your garage do you?

      Dom,
I have parking lights, hazards work both front & rear. The directionals all work , however they seem to flash faster than normal. The car has been parked in the garage since February. I had my left knee replaced and haven't started it since January. No mice

For the dash lights I would first suspect the dimmer function of the headlight switch. Try turning it back and forth a few times in case it is just a dead spot on the rheostat.

As for the stop lights, the only thing I can think of that often relates to the turn signals flashing more rapidly is a bad ground connection. I have seen this symptom many times on trailer wiring, although it is usually accompanied by dimmer than normal lights and a very weak lighting of the opposite turn signal at the same time.

I spent time the past few days checking various bulbs & connections, still no brake lights. As the directional lights were still flashing too fast, I replaced the flasher with a spare. That solved that problem. While under the dash I checked the directional switch wiring connection. Apparently there was a bad connection there as the brake lights now working. Norm, your suggestion on the dimmer function brought the dash lights back on. Thanks guys for your input.
