I'm new to this forum and just learning my way around it. Is there an archive of engine photographs somewhere? If not, I'd sure appreciate someone posting a few photos of a 72 LT-1 engine with the air cleaner removed. Thanks

Re: 1972 LT-1 engine photos
I have a few, with the caveat that I didn't restore my engine to NCRS standards, as such there probably are a few wrong hose clamps, hoses and belts..etc.. but I did bag and tag everything during disassembly and reused as much as I could.
i'll post one example, if you want more just let me know.
yes i I know valve cover is not on the right side yet, I did catch it though

Re: 1972 LT-1 engine photos
Roy, Thanks for the photo. It seems that every day I'm focused on some new detail. Today I'm focused on the power brake vacuum pipe. Mine had been cut short and yesterday I received a replacement from Paragon. The pipe I received looks to have been chrome plated a one time but the finish is worn through in many places. I was under the assumption that this pipe was plain carbon steel with a natural finish. Also, If you have a photo showing the pipe support bracket where it attaches to the throttle linkage I'd like to see that.- Top

Those are great photos Larry, just what I was looking for; Thank You. What is the finish on your pipe? In the first photo it appears to have a chrome like finish; if so, then the one Paragon sent me might be correct after all.- Top

Mike,
Yes, the pipe appears shiny, although I wouldn't describe it as chrome plated. Regardless, it's a reproduction pipe from 26 years ago, and without delving into my receipts, I couldn't tell you who supplied it.

The power brake pipe & bracket is plated a dull silver color. My guess would be zinc, but perhaps someone has had theirs chemically analyzed.Terry- Top
