Did all 1962 340hp cars come with a rear stabilizer? I recently (20 months or so ago) purchased a matching number 1962 340hp car. As time and money allows its my intent, while trying to maintain major component originality, but certainly not to NCRS judging standards, to restore this car. My current project is to go through the rear suspension (all bushings, spring liners, shocks, etc.). In the process of putting my parts list (Paragon) together I see the drawings shows a rear stabilizer. With the exception of the brackets welded to each side of the frame that holds the bar, there is no sign of a stabilizer?? My mount plates for the springs/shocks has no holes nor studs for mounting the outer stabilizer bar spacer. My plates appear as those in the catalog/service guide except for these holes. I think I know the answer to my question but wanted to ask. Does anyone know of a reason to remove this?? Sorry for all the words.
Lastly, in checking numbers (Nolan Adams, GM parts guide, Service Guide) the car does fairly well in terms of being original. One other item, the number on the carburetor is 3720S and I believe it should be a 3269S. Can someone tell me what the 3720S belongs on??
I appreciate your time.
Thanks again, Chuck in Brandon Florida.
