1967 "COPO" Silver/Red PG roadster at auction

Does anyone here have personal information or insight on this car? And how did 'they' determine there were only 5 produced in this color combination?

They put a bunch of numbers in a hat and picked one. Also it's not a COPO car Just a trim over ride. As all the parts were already at the plant

The car was owned by a collector in Houston and was Judged at the Frisco, TX Regional a few years ago. It's pretty car with great paperwork. I've seen two 1967 big blocks in this color and they are beautiful with the red stinger.

I know the car real well!!!The car is really original, a true no hit body, totally all original paint, beautiful original interior and original drivetrain along with a ton of REAL PAPERWORK!!!I think the Mecum ad does no justice for how much of an unbelievable and rare car this car is!!! This car is truly the only unrestored 67 COPO corvette to exist!!!!!Silver/Red Black wall car all original, with all the (REAL PAPERWORK) forget it, not only the only one, its the best one!!!!!!!!!!!IMO all others are stampers with real paper or real cars no paper, this car has both!!! End of story, try to and find another one!!!!!!

If it's not considered a COPO, how can it be the "only unrestored 67 COPO Corvette?"

You're not with the auction company, are you?

Do you own the car or work for Mecum? As was said here it's just a paint/interior non recommended & only required a zone manager over ride. I have seen many Corvettes that color combination. I was very popular in the 50'S & early 60'S. I had a silver/red 63 coupe.

Silver with a red interior was an "approved" combination for '63, '64, and '65. It looks great, and a Coupe in the '63 sales brochure was so configured, so I don't understand why it would have required zone approval in '66 and '67.
