    RC-15 Radiator Cap for 1970 LT1

I have what appears to be an original RC-15 cap except that the circle with (15# RC-15) is on the left side and the circle with (AC) is on the right side...is this also correct for judging since the NCRS technical manual shows the the circles and stamping opposite to the above? Thanks

Fred, do you know if this has the long or short ears (tangs) to it. A picture will definitely tell the truth.

Mike, I would say that the tangs are long since they measure approx. 7/8" and follow the curvature of the cap....the repro that I have measures 9/16" and are flat on the inner edge but do have the circled stamps same as the NCRS manual.

        Fred

A photo would be best but this anomaly has been seen may times along with other errors made during production by myself and others who purchase caps at swap meets.

Long tangs are a good sign but this is a desirable cap (an original) and is reproduced by many hoping to collect big money. Gotta go with Paul, a photo will get you a decisive response.

Pictured below is an original RC-15 Radiator Cap that I bought a few years ago a swap meet for $1. As far as I know it it correct for my 1970 Camaro SS350 long term (1990 to date) restoration project.

Here is an original 1970 Z28 radiator cap that I found on the web.

                Michael,
Have been trying to attach a couple of photos but no luck so far....I did take some pics set at the recommended pixel size as jpeg and attempted to move them "from computer"....any ideas or should I just contact the helpdesk? Thanks

Sorry Fred. I am not very technical with these computers and their programs. Try HELP desk and post them when you get a chance.

                    Here's the original RC-15 radiator cap from my February-built 1969 Camaro Z/28.
