    63 spare tire lid

Anyone have a picture of a 63 spare tire lid, show the difference between 64-67 if any in a late 63. Thanks

Believe you see lids were the same '63 through '67. However the '63 bucket was different than '64 through '67 bucket.

I was told there was a slight difference in the lid, the tub I know is 63 only (short lip)

I think the lid fiberglass config is common to all 63-7s. There was some sight changes in the 63 metal "A" frame that the lid is riveted to. Can't speak to details however.

On the side of the A frame the box is more square in shape in 63 then in 64-67 its more or a sloped angle.I'm sorry this is the only picture I have of the lid.

              Donald -

There's plenty of detail info on the various configurations of the "A"-frame that supports the tray in the '63 section of Noland's book.

Yes, there are significant differences in the metal frame for a 63. The fiberglass tub differs mostly in the composition of the fiberglass material used in the construction of the lid. The resin is darker (almost black) and the strands are lighter in color. The black resin makes the strands look white. The tub and lid for a 63 are constructed of the same dark resin and white strands of fiberglass. There is so much difference that one can spot 63 tubs and lids across the isle at swap meets.
