What are people using for anti-rattle pads between gauge lens and metal bezel? Some type of high density rubber foam?

Re: Speedo/Tach anti-rattle pads
Steve,
There is a gasket that goes completely around the lens. It's thick paper and dark gray in color. All of the Corvette supply houses sells them. Corvette America sells them under part number 33826 for $4.99. 1 800 458-3475 ext. 221.

Re: Speedo/Tach anti-rattle pads
Hi Steve,
Are you referring to the short straight tubular foam pieces that go between the lens and the gauge face?
I had most of mine but used a piece of dense foam damming strip I scrounged from an auto glass installer to make a couple I needed.

Re: Speedo/Tach anti-rattle pads
Alan, you've already been a help as I didn't realize these were tubular since all that's left of mine are dried up pieces of goo on my lenses that appears as old black adhesive. I suspected that they were once foam rubber components. There are 3 located on each lens, approximately 3/4 inch long and 3/16 inch wide. I'm not familiar with damming strip, is it tubular foam rubber? Thanks, Steve- Top

Re: Speedo/Tach anti-rattle pads
Hi Steve,
I was using the word tubular in trying to describe them, but they are solid and ROUND in profile.
Although the originals were round I used square foam I cut from a damming strip that was about 3/16" square and seemed the right density.
The glass installers use it on certain vehicles to control the ooze of the sealer. They just gave me an extra piece they had.
Our cars had a damming strip too.
Regards,
Alan
If you look carefully you can see one face of a similar strip in this picture. It's darkish gray, and between the 2 smallest arrows.Attached Files71 Coupe, 350/270, 4 speed
