    Speedo cable key adapter

    2014-09-06_11-20-50.jpg

Anyone know where I can get the speedo adapter key shown as item 5 for a M20, The 90 deg adapter is the original GM 6478849 0.882 ratio and not the later replacement 1565211. What would the part number be for this key? This is for a 73 4 speed.

I can find no record of any speedometer adapter of GM #6478849 that ever existed.

The key was part of the adapter assembly and more than likely not sold as a separate service part. I'm sure you're going to have to find something used.

For many adapters the key was available separately.

I bought the adapter and the keys were separate parts. I got mine a few years ago from my GM dealer.

Just for archival proposed, I did manage to find a key.

              speedometer adapter key.pdf

This is available from Mr speedometer Inc. Calgary Alberta. Their part number HR124
Their main business looks like taxi meters and various custom speedometers etc.

GM no longer carries it and it is near impossible to find.

              Fits perfectly. $5.16
