so the assembly manual says the end of the spring should be 3/8 of an inch from the stop pointing to the top. ?? Its alot easier to see the bottum area. is that location suppose to be 3/8 of an inch from he drain hole , ??? thanks

Robert, the spring has a free end and the upper a-arm has an indent that accepts that free end....if the spring is not seated in that indent the rear of car opposite corner will sit lower.....guess why I know....mine was a half coil off.....

      Robert,

If your 63 is the same as my 66, this might help. From the end of the indent, 3/8" turned out to be just the outside edge of the drain hole. So, I put the spring in place with the end all the way at the end of the indent. Then I slowly turned the spring while a helper watched the hole from above and when the end of the spring lined up with the edge of the drain hole we knew we were at the 3/8" mark. I hope this makes sense.

        Robert,
Yes, flush with open edge of hole to 3/8" away from it. Make sure both the top and bottom are set in the curved pockets or the car will not sit correctly as other poster stated.
