Re: 1967 BB fan clutch replacement vendor

Crane has been advertising Eaton-looking fan clutches for several months now on a well known auction site. Search 3916141. Wonder if anyone has purchased & tried same?

I was not aware that a Scwitzer-style reproduction fan clutch was available.

      Addendum:

I checked the AFC web-site. It appears they do have a Schwitzer style fan clutch reproduction. They look very good and true-to-original. However, I wonder how well they function? That's the real test.
      Joe,

I guess I'll find out how well it functions. They do advertise a 2 year warranty if that means anything. I did have a chance to look at the original fan clutch on my 70 Z-28 and it is indeed an Eaton.

      Dave.

My question is, can one be bought at a local parts store? I understand it's the one with the thermostat. I can order one but the parts stores send their best guess.
Anyone with a good # I can give NAPA or other for a good replacement with the thermostat?

I am a bit anal because I had 2 Heyden clutches fail (one took radiator) so I gave Heyden a visit, they were 50 miles away. They gave me a new one and said the other 2 were wrong for the applicatin.
My BB radiator is original and I want to keep it that way.

        Joe & Jeff,
        Thanks,
I,ll look into those. I spent a long time restoring my shroud after looking at the quality of the repo (no lip on edges like the original service replacement), So I set a goal this weekend to get the shroud, radiator, condenser, hoses, and hood on. I got most of that done and see that the fan clutch & fan are easier going on last to avoid damage to the radiator fins even though I cover them with cardboard.
The car is a 435 but I added factory air to it back in 1971. To my suprise the radiator support had all the holes necessary for the condenser, the only difference were the cross rods which I chose to leave on.
